Travel in greece

Greece
Millions of tourists annually visit sunny and bright Greece. Most of them use the services of travel agencies and purchase ready-made trips. For a fee, operators help with the execution of necessary documents, deal with issues of transfer and accommodation in apartments. However, recently the number of travelers who prefer an independent vacation in Greece has noticeably increased.
Usually these are middle-aged people who have become boring of a standard set of pleasures. They are confident, they know languages, they want to feel the color of the country, and they are not afraid to leave the hotel in search of new impressions.
Organizing an independent trip to Greece is troublesome, but the effort expended is worth choosing the best route and not limiting yourself to the timeframes of a regular tour. Independent travel allows you to optimally combine a beach holiday with excursions and sightseeing. If you wish, you can drive around all of Greece, stopping in different cities, and linger there, where it will be more interesting or comfortable. Trips without a travel agency, planned in advance, have another nice bonus - a lower cost.
With the development of the Internet, the organization of independent travel to Greece has become much easier. Now the whole trip can be planned without leaving your home, through websites offering hotel reservations and a choice of air tickets. You can view a lot of options and choose the most suitable. The only thing that will have to get into the city is a visa, but this procedure does not take much time. Beach holidays in Greece are relevant from May to October, in the remaining months, the trip is worth devoting to sightseeing.
Interesting routes for independent travel to Greece

Greece is rich in sights and natural beauty, so it’s unlikely to appreciate all its advantages in a single trip. Choose your specific route can be based on the purpose of the trip.
As a starting point for a trip to Greece, many tourists choose Athens. From the capital they are going on a tour of the historical places of Central and Northern Greece, and when they satisfy their need for new information, they continue to rest on the beaches in the Athens region or on the Chalkidiki peninsula. Also popular are options for combining holidays in the Greek capital with a three-day cruise to small islands.
Tourists, whose main goal is to get to know the country as the cradle of ancient civilization, should spend time in the Peloponnese. Such a concentration of monuments of antiquity is nowhere else in Greece. Traveling around the peninsula, visiting the famous Mycenae, Sparta, Olympia and Corinth is best in a rented car
For people who dream to touch the shrines and take part in worship services, the trip can be started from the city of Thessaloniki. Many Orthodox monuments have been preserved here, among them the famous Church of Saint Demetrius. Not far from the city, on the Peninsula of Chalkidiki there is the world famous Mount Athos with a large number of monasteries for men. However, women are not allowed here, so they can only admire the temples from the sea during the ship excursion.Fans of beach holidays and active sports can go to Rhodes, washed by the Aegean and Mediterranean seas. In the western part of the island there are always waves that give unforgettable impressions to surf lovers. Tired of the extreme, you can move to the east of Rhodes, which is great for a relaxing beach holiday. Sometimes tourists lodge in rooms only for a day in order to move from one beach to another every day in search of new impressions.
Travel routes are still quite a lot, and if you wish, you can come up with your own, one and only. Independent travel to Greece is the best opportunity to open a country through your own perception and attitude, realize a unique cultural program and feel like a discoverer.
